American singer Katy Perry has arrived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for her performance at Rock in Rio. The singer was received by fans at the city's international airport on Monday (29th).
In an interview with TV Globo, Perry said she was excited to be in Brazil and to perform at Rock in Rio.
"I'm very excited to be here," Perry said. "It's one of the most important festivals in the world, and I'm so honored to be a part of it."
Perry is one of the headliners of Rock in Rio, which takes place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from September 2nd to 11th. 200,000 tickets per day are available for the event.
Other headliners include Iron Maiden, Justin Bieber, Guns N' Roses, and The Black Eyed Peas.
Perry is scheduled to perform on the festival's opening night, September 2nd.
The singer is currently promoting her new album, "Smile," which was released in August 2020.
The album is Perry's fifth studio album and features the singles "Daisies" and "Smile.
Perry is a Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter.
She has sold over 143 million records worldwide and is one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
Perry is also known for her outspoken personality and her philanthropic work.
She is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and has worked to raise awareness of issues such as child hunger and poverty.
