Dustin Johnson Misses Cut at 2024 Masters
Former World No. 1 Struggles with Form Again
Augusta National Course Proves Challenging for Many
Former world No. 1 Dustin Johnson failed to make the cut at the 2024 Masters after a disappointing second round at Augusta National. Johnson, who has been struggling for form recently, has yet to record a top-10 finish this season.
The Open champion struggled in his Masters debut, narrowly missing a birdie bid on his last hole to finish with a 74. The brutal conditions on Friday proved too difficult for Johnson, who finished with a total score of 148, missing the cut by four strokes.
Johnson's early exit from the Masters is a setback in his quest to return to the top of the world rankings. The 39-year-old has not won a major championship since the 2020 Masters and has only one top-10 finish in his last 10 starts.
Augusta National proved to be a challenging course for many players on Friday. Several surprising names missed the cut, including Open champion Cameron Smith, who tied for 65th place.
