A Shohei Ohtani 5050 Odds Update

Shohei Ohtani 50/50 Odds Update

The reigning AL MVP has a 50/50 shot at returning to the mound this season according to Angels manager Phil Nevin.

Ohtani missed his last scheduled start with a sore right forearm. Nevin said Tuesday that Ohtani is not expected to miss his next scheduled start Friday against the Baltimore Orioles barring any setbacks.

Ohtani is 9-6 with a 2.83 ERA and 138 strikeouts in 120 innings this season. He is also batting .264 with 25 home runs and 73 RBIs.

If Ohtani does return to the mound Friday, it will be a huge boost for the Angels, who are currently 57-67 and 18 games out of first place in the AL West.

Ohtani is one of the best pitchers in baseball and his return would give the Angels a much-needed boost. He is also one of the most popular players in baseball and his return would be a major storyline for the rest of the season.

It is still too early to say whether Ohtani will be able to return to the mound this season, but the fact that he is even close to being ready is a good sign for the Angels.

If Ohtani can return to the mound and pitch the way he did before his injury, he could help the Angels make a run at a wild-card berth. The Angels are currently 5.5 games out of the third wild-card spot with 36 games remaining.
